Comprehensive testing has shown that the modems and SOLIVIA Solar Inverters are compatible. The IRIS RS-485 radio modem is installed between the power inverter and the chosen system monitoring solution (SOLIVIA Monitor from Delta, Solar-Log from Solare Datensysteme or WEB´log from meteocontrol). The first modem receives the data from the power inverter at the interface and transmits it via radio signal to a second modem. The second modem feeds the data to the RS-485 interface of the receiving monitoring system. The modem itself does not modify the data stream. The bi-directional IRIS RS-485 radio modem provides long-range radio data transmission of up to 1500 meters outdoors and thus represents a cost-effective alternative to the laying of data transmission cables.
The radio modem can be obtained from TRL Funksysteme GmbH. Further information can be found in the manufacturer's declaration from Delta at: http://www.solar-inverter.com/eu/en/download/Herstellererkl_rung_TRL_Funksysteme_IRIS_RS_485_Funkmodem.pdf
